Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas recently shared a warm birthday wish for his younger sister Elisavet. Elisavet is the youngest of Tsitsipas' three siblings and is also a budding tennis player.

Taking to social media on Monday, Stefanos Tsitsipas called his youngest sister a "blessing" and wished her a happy birthday.

"Happy Birthday little sis! What a blessing you are," he wrote on his Instagram stories, with a kiss and heart emoticons.

On the tennis side of things, Stefanos Tsitsipas missed a slew of tournaments after sustaining a shoulder injury at the end of the Australian Open and competing at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam. He, however, lost to Jannik Sinner 4-6, 3-6 in the Round-of-16 to draw curtains on his campaign in Rotterdam. Tsitsipas later withdrew from the Mexican Open as he was not completely fit.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked third in the ATP rankings, has been awarded the second seed at the upcoming Indian Wells Masters. The 24-year-old Greek player has a 13-2 win-loss record for the season so far.

He started 2023 by helping Greece reach the semifinals of the United Cup, winning all four of his singles matches. He then competed at the Australian Open as the third seed. The Greek beat the likes of 15th seed Jannik Sinner and 18th seed Karen Khachanov to reach his second Grand Slam final, where he went down fighting 6-3, 7-6(4), 7-6(5) against Novak Djokovic.

After a couple of wins at the Davis Cup, he competed at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam in February, losing to Jannik Sinner in the Round of 16.

Tsitsipas had to opt out of the Mexican Open due to a shoulder injury he sustained after the Australian Open. Recently, during the Dubai Tennis Championships, Tsitsipas was embroiled in a controversy when Daniil Medvedev, one of the Greek's fiercest rivals, recalled an earlier comment by Tsitsipas on Andrey Rublev.

Medvedev declared that the 24-year-old Greek was wrong about his assumptions and comments about Rublev, who, according to Medvedev, is worthy of winning many Grand Slam titles.

Medvedev recalled Tsitsipas’ comments during the 2022 ATP Finals about the World No. 6, where the Greek downplayed his loss to Rublev by stating that the Russian “prevailed with the few tools that he has.”

"I remember not long ago, one player said that he has just a few weapons, and I was reading this and I was like, ‘How can you say this?’" the former World No. 1 recalled. Andrey is one of the most skillful players on the tour, he just didn’t exploit fully his potential but I’m sure that he can win Grand Slams," Medvedev said during the presentation ceremony at the Dubai Tennis Championships.

The 2021 US Open champion further encouraged Rublev to defeat the World No. 3 many more times in his career.

"Hopefully he can beat this guy, who said it, many, many times, and I wish this for sure," Daniil Medvedev said about his rival Tsitsipas.
